01 Profile

I make teams faster, codebases calmer, and clients confident.

I'm Evan Borden, an engineering manager and Adobe architect based in Charlotte, NC. Eighteen years building software, seven of them leading the engineers who build it. My background runs from enterprise WordPress and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platforms to the wider Adobe cloud stack — App Builder, Experience Platform and Journey Optimizer — and modern CI/CD on GitLab and Azure DevOps, with ongoing hands-on work bringing AI tooling into real engineering workflows.

Day to day I lead as the technical lead across major client accounts: setting the engineering bar, placing the right people on the work, and getting their contributions seen. Based in Charlotte, NC, I partner with VP+ technical leaders and translate engineering reality into decisions the business can act on.

Technical leadership

Tech lead across three flagship accounts, Disney Rewards, UC Health, and Labcorp OnDemand (newest in 2026), owning architecture direction and the quality bar for each engagement. On Labcorp OnDemand I served as Adobe architect and technical director, owning the full stack architecture end to end.

02

Hiring & staffing

Interview and place engineers for technical roles directly onto my teams, including hiring my own successor on Disney Rewards. Help shape the right resource mix on an account and manage tech hiring across India and Costa Rica.

03

Advocacy & growth

Champion strong work where it counts, surfacing engineers' contributions to leadership and making the case for their promotions.

04

Executive collaboration

Partner daily with VP+ technical leaders, and known by name to the CTO, translating engineering reality into decisions the business can act on.

05

Standards & practices

Vocal about how we write code, and I've streamlined teams onto an agreed set of rules, coding conventions, naming, formatting and spacing, so the codebase stays consistent, reviewable, and easy to hand off.

04 Capabilities

A full-stack toolkit, kept sharp.

43 skills across the stack — Adobe Experience Cloud, enterprise CMS, front and back end, cloud and CI/CD. Bars show depth, the year is when each was last used in earnest.

In their words.

I had the pleasure of working with Evan Borden on several cross-functional projects, and he consistently delivered high-quality work with precision and thoughtfulness. Evan brings a sharp technical mind to every challenge and always asks the right questions to drive clarity and alignment, something that made our collaboration both efficient and effective. He also has a great sense for balancing user experience with technical feasibility, which made him a key contributor to building thoughtful, scalable solutions. What stands out most is his strong work ethic and professionalism. He's the kind of engineering partner you want on every team: reliable, detail-oriented, and always pushing to build better products. Any team would be lucky to have him!

Evan is one of those rare developers you find in the hacker role in blockbuster movies, the protagonists go to him at their greatest time of need and in a matter of movie minutes he's in the mainframe, hacking the planet and ensuring the good guys win. He also has a fantastic bedside manner with clients and often provides excellent insight and technical acumen to save the day. I don't worry about tickets or difficult bugs when I assign them to Evan, they'll get done on time, and better documented at the end to boot.
